Sew Essentials: The Sewing Spot (“Sew Essentials,” “we,” “us”) runs a sewing studio at 3532 Urbana Pike, Suite F, Urbana, MD 21704. This policy explains what information we collect through sewessentials.com, our request forms, our website chat assistant, phone calls and text messages, and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Contact details you give us: your name, email address and phone number.
• Request details: the class, workshop, party or alteration you are asking about, preferred days or dates, who is attending, a participant’s age, garment details, notes and anything else you type into a form or the chat assistant.
• Your choices: whether you agreed to receive text messages and that you read our class policy.
• Payment information: when you pay online, card details are entered on our payment processor’s secure page. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Basic technical information: like most websites, our hosting and security providers receive standard information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit.

How we use it

• To answer your questions and respond to class, workshop, party and alteration requests.
• To confirm registrations, arrange payment, and send reminders, updates or changes about a class or service you asked about.
• To send text messages, only if you opted in (see our SMS Terms).
• To ask for feedback or a review after a class or service.
• To keep the website secure and screen out spam.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other businesses for their own marketing.

Text messages

If you check the box to receive text messages, we will text you about your request, class or service. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help at any time. Mobile numbers and text-message opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Who helps us run things

We share information only with service providers that help us operate the studio and website, and only for that purpose:

• CallDirector AI — website, request forms, chat assistant, phone assistant and studio notifications.
• Twilio — delivery of text messages and calls.
• Stripe — secure online payments.
• Google — email, maps and reviews.
• GitHub and Cloudflare — website hosting and security.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our students, staff or studio.

Children

We offer classes for kids ages 7 and up, and parties for younger guests. Requests for children should be made by a parent or guardian, who provides the child’s name and age so we can place them in the right class. We do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Chat assistant and calls

Our website chat assistant and phone assistant are automated helpers. Conversations may be saved so the studio can follow up on your request. Phone calls with the assistant may be recorded and summarized for the same reason. Please don’t share sensitive information, such as payment card numbers, in chat or text.

How long we keep it

We keep request and registration information for as long as we need it to serve you and keep normal business records, and then delete it.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any text to stop text messages.
• Ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you.
